Congratulations to 2010 LIIFE winner, Stevan Mena, on the distribution of his film, “Bereavement.” The theatrical release will begin here on Long Island at select markets on March 4 with two locations including the National Amusements Island 16 in Holtsville and the National Amusements Farmingdale 14 in Farmingdale. Come support one of our own!!
The next meeting of the Filmmakers Connection will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 7:00 pm in room 303 of Five Towns College (305 North Service Road, Dix Hills, NY 11746) and will feature our Filmmakers Connection Minifest. Everyone in attendance is eligible to submit a five-minute piece (or less) in DVD format (NTSC), which the audience will vote on that night. If you are a Filmmakers Connection member, there will be no fee. The $5 fee (nonrefundable) will also cover your meeting fee for this meeting. Nominal prizes will be awarded. These films are not screened beforehand, so anything goes. The winner will have their film eligible for inclusion in the Long Island International Film Expo. Please note, if the five-minute piece is part of a larger movie, we are only obligated to show the five minutes that was shown at the Minifest, with the “possibility” of showing the entire film. Please be sure, if your film wins, to submit through longislandfilm.com before April 1 and for code use: Minifest winner.
