We
had a great LIIFE season with LIIFE being name both one of the 25 Coolest Film
Festivals in the World by MovieMaker Magazine and one of the Top 10 Hottest
Summer Festivals in the US by Audience Awards.
I
can’t believe we open submission again in mid-October already! But what we will
do this year is close submissions about a month early – so be prepared for a

This
year we’re going to try to have a couple of Filmmakers Connection Meetings in
Nassau County as well as a couple in Suffolk County.
FREE EVENT!!!! Celebrate Halloween by getting SCARED
FOR YOUR L.I.I.F.E.! We're screening some of the best short horror films from
over the years at the Lindenhurst Library on Saturday, October 25th,
from 2:00pm-3:30pm. A brief Q&A with some of the filmmakers will
follow. Admission is free! The Lindenhurst Library is located at
1 Lee Avenue off of Wellwood Avenue. This event will
take place in the library's media room in their lower level. For questions,

(FTH), home of the Roy W. Dean Film Grant, is now taking applications for our
Spring Film Grant. We are celebrating our 21st year providing grants to
films that are unique and make a contribution to society.
This year’s grant is worth
nearly $30,000 in cash, production needs and services. Grant is open to
both projects in any stage of production. We fund documentaries, short

you have a business, service, or headshot you would like to bring to the

The $30 membership fee entitles you to attend the Filmmakers Connection
meetings and panels for free. It also
entitles you to discounts on Foundation functions such as the Long Island
International Film Expo, the Awards Ceremony party, all mailings and
newsletters, and (if all other criteria is met) a chance at winning the $1,000/$500
Finishing Fund Grant. (When you send in your $30, please be sure to include
your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and how you are involved with
the film industry, i.e. director, producer, voice overs, etc.) and whether you
are already getting this newsletter by e-mail.
If you are a student with
appropriate college/high school ID, the cost is $15 to join for the year. If you do not join, you can still attend
meetings for free.

not responsible for speaker cancellations.
